The above matter refers.
As you are aware the Government of Rwanda through a statement on cabinet resolutions dated 30th April 2020
stated that the schools will remain closed until September 2020.
In view of the above we wish to make the following observations:
- We will conform fully with the government directive to ensure our university remains closed for the face
to face lectures.
- The university will upscale the E-learning through the Online Distance and Electronic Learning (ODEL)
platform. All the continuing and new students will continue using the platform to access their studies.
- The university has released the April 2020 salaries in compliance with the main campus guidelines dated
27th April 2020 reference REF: MKU00/VC/005/2020/096. Since we are aware that the containment of
COVID-19 has affected all of us directly or indirectly, our university will continue supporting its staff navigate the pandemic, through ensuring salary payments.
The members of staff offering essential services inside the campus will be facilitated by the university
to continue doing so.
- We encourage our staff to continue supporting government measures in containing the spread of
COVID-19 by strictly adhering to the Cabinet statement dated 30 th April 2020.
We wish you all the best of regards as you continue supporting our university and taking great care of
yourselves and immediate families.
